Dedication of the hospital to Our Lady of Lourdes

As part of re-claiming her identity, the hospital in the recent past has focused on creating and preparing a sacred space, a prayer garden where the staff, the patients and visitors to the hospital could spend some time in quiet prayer and find peace and solace.

During his recent visit to the hospital, on 1st September, 2021, bishop Joseph Mwongela dedicated the hospital to Our Lady of Lourdes through the blessing of the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Lourdes in France, is considered a special place to visit because prayers and services are believed to bring real blessing to the pilgrims.

It is our belief that all of us that will visit our prayer garden, the “Lourdes in Mutomo” will be cleansed of our sins and be cured of our illnesses. May the fountain water at the grotto bring healing to those of us physically and spiritually sick.
